Music Review #1 Artist: VISA P

Whilst it seems mainstream/underground hip-hop is starting to sound all the same does VISA P bring a new meal to the table?

On first contact without even listening to his music my first thought was ''oh god not another one of these generic hip-hop artists''. Unfortunately VISA P fits this to a tee with all the trimmings. Synth style samples with overloaded auto-tune vocals doesn't stand out from the rest of the crowed, which is quite ironic as in one of his interviews in WWS magazine he mentioned:-

''think outside the box, & DO NOT be afraid to try different things when it comes to music. It’s 2010, sticking to the script or trying to use the same formula as before isn’t going to cut it anymore''. - Visa P

Well i can't tell what your doing differently to other artists, even your style of wear is even the same as the others, big gold chain, dollar symbol imbedded in your name and raping about bitches and money, i fail to see what your doing differently

Track Reviews:

Money To Spend

Very simple track that works rather well, nice catchy hook with a lovely kick drum. Im not too sure about the female vocalist she tends to make the track rather 'cheesy' ''I'm so gravy I'm so crazy''. Nice production overall not finding any errors as far as EQ is concerned. - 7/10

Want You

Argh antares auto-tune i really hate you now, i really can't stand this effect used to such and extent that it ruins quite a catchy track. Who was the vocalist? i would love to hear her without this effect all over her. This will be a big hit in the clubs for the main dance floor, its a shame as i really like it , but to much auto-tune is too much for my ears to handle. - 7.5/10

Overall Impression: same old tired way of hip hop, this will probably be liked by teenagers and hardcore hip hop fans, but for people that really know there hip hop will probably still be plugged into DJ Premier.

Overall Score: 6/10

she clearly says "i'm so WAVY, i'm so crazy.." there's nothing about gravy in the song. smh. This artist has several tracks available on this site, why only review the two most commercial tracks, then knock him for being a "generic" artist? "Want You" is the ONLY record that uses autotune, yet u criticize him for "over-loaded autotune vocals" as if it's being used in every single track. Maybe do a little more research next time before you offer an opinion, & more people will take it seriously.
